Light Structures AS is the world-leading supplier of fiber optic hull stress monitoring systems. Our advanced systems are installed on LNG carriers of the membrane and MOSS designs, crude carriers and high-speed naval vessels.

A highly qualified staff of 6 at the headquarters in Oslo work with agents and local engineers in key locations around the world to supply, install and service systems for our customers. We also have a running development effort to improve and expand our product range.

Light Structures was founded by Dr Philos Geir Sagvolden and MSc Karianne Pran in 2001. The company is built around technology originally developed at the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment (FFI).

The company is owned by Sagvolden, Pran, Qbator AS and FiReCo AS.
