SENSFIB HULL STRESS MONITORING

The SENSFIB Hull Stress Monitoring system from Light Structures AS promotes a good and safe operation of the ship’s hull. This is achieved by measuring the strain (hull load) in key locations. The Hullinfo user interface can be displayed on a dedicated monitor in the wheel house, or run as third party software in intergrated bridge systems.

Ships that may benefit from Hull Stress Monitoring include:

  • Tankers; crude carriers and LNG carriers
  • Bulk carriers
  • FPSOs
  • Container carriers
  • High speed ferries and cruise ships
  • Naval ships

The system includes HullInfo, which is a dedicated console giving the officers on watch an objective measurement of the current conditions:

  • Hull loads and warning of load levels that represent an immediate threat to hull integrity
  • Fatigue accumulation rates
  • Trend predictions
  • Historical data
  • Parameters and warning levels for all connected sensors
  • Environmental data

The system reliability has been optimized by the use of the Linux operating system, which is becoming the software of choice among computer professionals. All these factors contribute to our systems’ high reliability and uptime.
