Light Structures AS is a Norwegian company with roots from the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment where the generic technology behind our SENSFIB Condition Monitoring Systems was developed. The core technology - based on our own designed fiber optic sensors, can be used across a number of different application areas, however, our current focus is on Shipping, Oil & Gas and the Wind Turbine sector. We are currently the market leader on fiber optic Hull Stress Monitoring in the shipping sector and have lately taken a very strong presence on LNG carriers.

Working closely with our customers and leading classification societies we are constantly striving to increase the end-user value and at the same time bring forward new application areas. Recent new developments include Ice Load Monitoring and Sloshing Monitoring.

Based on our state-of-the-art technology we have moved the output from HMS systems from mainly being a reporting tool to becoming a valuable Decision Support System and a planning tool for condition based maintenance.
