Light Structures has been contracted to deliver SENSFIB hull stress monitoring system for ENI's Goliat FPSO. Hyundai Heavy Industries has recently started building this unit which will be Light Structures largest delivery to the offshore sector to date. The Sevan style FPSO will be instrumented with 28 sensors where the majority will be installed inside the cargo tanks. Light Structures stress sensors and a special cable have been approved for installation in crude oil tanks with temperatures up to 70C. This gives our all fiber optic SENSFIB Hull Stress Monitoring Systems an extra competitive edge compared to the electrical technology used by other providers of hull stress monitoring systems.
